“Backups included” is read as a promise that yesterday’s site returns with one button. The narrower reading is this: EuroVDC hosting takes daily and weekly automatic remote backups. Remote is not a second folder on the same disk. Retention is not in this article. It sits in the service description in the panel. We do not invent a day count here.
WordPress hosting names a daily backup with the plan. When you move to a cloud server, that line does not move with the invoice. A web hosting backup and a script you wrote on a root machine are not the same product.
How to verify what is included
- Find the time of the last successful backup in the panel. The word “on” does not mean yesterday’s file is there.
- Restore onto a subdomain or an empty account. Do not press restore over the live site as the test.
- Check whether files and the database were taken at the same moment. If one is from yesterday and the other from last week, shop orders and stock will not match.
- If mail is a separate product, a site backup does not bring the mailbox back. Do not treat MX as a backup.
The copy you should hold
A remote backup should not be the only copy if the account closes or the backup itself is damaged. Once a month, take one file to your own computer or another account. You do not have to do it every day. Never doing it is trusting the word “included”.
When the test counts as done
After a restore onto an empty account, the test is done when four things open. If one does not, “backups included” is false for that day.
- The homepage shows the content from the backup time written in the panel.
- One inner address opens. The homepage alone does not show that the database was taken at that hour.
- The admin login works. Login shows that the file copy also brought the password table.
- One form submits. A submit shows that write permission is there, not only the files.
Mail is not on this list. A site backup does not bring the mailbox back. Write down the date of the test. An unwritten test is a test that did not happen.
Frequently asked questions
Does a daily backup keep every hour?
No. Daily is that day’s copy. A file you deleted in the afternoon, if the morning copy still has it, comes back as the morning version. An hourly promise is not this plan’s sentence.
Does the backup sit on the same server?
The EuroVDC description is a remote backup. It is not a second folder on the same disk. This article does not invent a rack number.
Does a WordPress plugin backup replace the hosting backup?
No. The plugin copies from inside the site. If the disk is full or the site will not open, the plugin will not run. The hosting backup comes from the panel. Holding both is not a reason to delete one.
Is a restore free?
Read that from the product row. This article does not invent a fee. Testing on an empty account is cheaper than breaking the live site twice.
